The Club at Indian Creek in Omaha, Nebraska, is hosting this year’s Pinnacle Bank Championship. The tournament started on August 8th and will soon crown its champion. But have you ever wondered about the prize money that comes with the title?
The total prize pool for the Korn Ferry Tour’s Pinnacle Bank Championship is set at $1,000,000. Following the rule that allocates 18% of the pool to the winner, the Pinnacle Bank Champion will take home $180,000. In the past, the runner-up would receive approximately 10.26% of the prize pool, but now that percentage has dropped to just 9.
The prize money is distributed among as many as 65 players who make the cut, with the percentage decreasing to only 0.40% by the end of the list. Nevertheless, the golfer in 65th place will still receive $4000.
The winner of the Pinnacle Bank Championship will also earn 500 KFT points and nearly 14 OWGR points. These KFT points are crucial as the top 30 players at the end of the 2024 season will earn a PGA Tour card for the following season, and their priority order for fall events will be determined by their combined points from the regular season and Korn Ferry Tour Finals.
“So far, I haven’t encountered any significant difficulties,” that’s how Walker has described his performance at the Indian Creek in Omaha. The 28-year-old golfer, who turned professional in 2018, has yet to secure a tournament victory. Earlier this year, he finished T14 at the Club Car Championship and expressed gratitude for being able to improve his game. Now, his progress can be seen at the 2024 Pinnacle Bank Championship.
Right from the start of the tournament, he has consistently held a strong position on the leaderboard. With scores of 62-70-67, Walker has maintained an impressive 14-under heading into the final round.
As he tees off for the final round with a three-stroke lead, fans are hopeful that Walker will claim his first title on the tour. He exudes confidence after reaching the top of the leaderboard. He stated, “It feels good. It’s right where you want to be at the beginning of the week, so you couldn’t ask for a better position going into Sunday. However, you still have to remain committed to your game and focus on what you can control out there, and the results will take care of themselves.”
