Bugatti has revealed another exclusive Chiron, which pays tribute to Jean Bugatti and the Type 55, a model of which only 38 units were produced.
This Chiron Super Sport, one of the last to be produced by the Molsheim brand, uses a color scheme similar to that used on the Type 55 by Jean Bugatti, a combination of yellow and black, which were the favorite colors of Ettore Bugatti, Jean Bugatti’s father.
Among the various elements, the black stripe in the center and the gradient number 55 extending to the headlights stand out, which have a black outline.
In addition, there are also black ten-spoke wheels with yellow EB emblems, and a two-tone rear wing with the inscription “55 1 of 1”.
Just like the exterior, the interior also reveals the attention to detail, with a focus on the elegant black leather that further enhances the exterior aesthetics. Additionally, the cabin includes exclusive details, such as embroidered headrests displaying the unique inscription ’55 1 of 1′. The gradient motif of the “55” also continues, this time skillfully hand-stitched on the door panels in a vibrant yellow, complemented by door sills with Jean Bugatti’s signature.
This Chiron Super Sport is equipped with a quad-turbo 8.0-liter W16 engine producing 1600 hp and 1600 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox that distributes power to all four wheels, allowing this Chiron Super Sport to reach 0-200 km/h in just over five seconds and achieve a top speed of 440 km/h.
“Even 100 years after his time, we remain fully connected to Jean Bugatti and his design,” revealed Jascha Straub, director of Sur Mesure, Bugatti’s customization department. “The inspiration for us today is still Jean Bugatti, because he understood proportions better than anyone and was the first to offer cars that combined comfort with absolute performance. Imagine, almost 100 years ago, the Type 55 was capable of reaching 180 km/h.”
