Neel Jani, from Switzerland, and Julien Andlauer, from France, will be driving the Proton Competition Porsche 963 #99 in the next race. The race, which is part of the FIA World Endurance Championship, will take place in Le Mans, France, on June 15, 2024.
Proton Competition has decided to maintain its lineup from the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, where Neel Jani and Julien Andlauer competed. However, Harry Tincknell will not be joining them this time, as he will be competing in the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park stage of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for Ford Multimatic.
For the fifth stage of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship, Proton Competition will be entering their Porsche 963 #99 without Harry Tincknell. The British driver will be competing for Ford Multimatic in their GTD Pro commitments at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park stage of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
The next race on the WEC calendar is the 6 Hours of São Paulo on July 14. Unfortunately, there will be a conflict with the IMSA event. This will be WEC’s return to Brazil since 2014, when the Interlagos circuit was last included in the calendar. The IMSA event, on the other hand, will feature LMP2s, GTDs, and GTD Pros in the Chevrolet Grand Prix, a 2-hour and 40-minute sprint race.
Proton and Cadillac will be the only two teams with a two-driver lineup among the 37 confirmed entries in the 19 Hypercars and 18 LMGT3s. There will be two drivers racing at home, including Nicolas Costa, from United Autosports #59 McLaren 720S LMGT3 EVO, and Augusto Farfus in the WRT #31 BMW M4 LMGT3.
After the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where double points are awarded in the WEC, the two Manthey teams have accumulated 75 points in the LMGT3 team standings. Team #91 received the full 50 points for winning Le Mans, while Team #92 scored only two points.
