In Austria, Ocon from the Alpine team emerged as the top performer in the Sprint Qualifying event.
Max Verstappen, representing Red Bull, set the fastest time during Sprint Qualifying, securing pole position for the upcoming Sprint race at the Austrian Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Verstappen achieved a time of 1:05.005s in the third session of Sprint Qualifying, maintaining his unbeatable record in single lap performances at the Red Bull Ring. Lando Norris from McLaren was close behind by 0.093s to claim second place.
Oscar Piastri, Norris’ teammate at McLaren, secured third place, while Carlos Sainz from Ferrari managed to split the two Mercedes drivers. George Russell overtook Lewis Hamilton to secure sixth position.
Sergio Perez, driving for Red Bull, struggled and finished in seventh place. The Alpine team also had a successful performance, with both of their drivers advancing to Q3 and taking advantage of Charles Leclerc’s failure to set a lap time.
