The McLaren pilots are ready to challenge Verstappen in the Austrian GP Sprint. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri from McLaren are confident that they can compete with Max Verstappen from Red Bull in the Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix Sprint race on Saturday. Norris qualified in second place, just 0.098 seconds behind Verstappen, while Piastri qualified in third, three tenths behind the Dutchman. Piastri had a tough time in Barcelona but showed improvement in Friday’s qualifying session. However, there is still room for growth as he was two tenths behind his teammate. Piastri acknowledged that there were some corners where he could have done better on his last lap. He is optimistic about their position and believes they are back on pace after a difficult weekend. Norris, on the other hand, was less than a tenth of a second off Verstappen’s pole time. He has been the closest competitor to Verstappen since winning his first Formula 1 Grand Prix in Miami in May. Although he didn’t manage to beat Verstappen in Friday’s qualifying session, Norris is still positive about his performance. Both Verstappen and Norris shared the front row in the recent Spanish Grand Prix and are expected to do so again on Saturday morning. The Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix Sprint will start at 12:00 PM local time. Let the battle begin.
