Recipe from the GNR to improve visibility in the car during winter includes a potato, the “more natural” alternative to specific products for defogging.
How does it work? According to the police force, in a publication shared on the social network Facebook, cut a potato in half, then rub it on the entire glass surface; then, finish with a clean cloth.
“This way, the starch from the potato will create a film that will help prevent moisture from sticking to the glass”, it can be read.
The method may not be as efficient, but it is “a more natural option for defogging glass”, guarantees the GNR, also reminding that “driving with a fogged windshield drastically reduces visibility and affects safe driving”. Therefore, to prevent this phenomenon that is “due to the thermal shock between the interior and exterior environments of the vehicle, resulting in condensation of existing moisture in the air”, one should “use specific products for defogging”.
