Abarth announced that it is working together with Stellantis Motorsport to develop the most powerful electric “scorpion” ever, with the aim of creating a future of fun for brand enthusiasts.
With 240 hp of power, the new sports car will be built on a new platform, composed of a combination of technologies and based on the well-known eCMP, now renamed Perfo-eCMP.
The brand has announced that the new model is equipped with a high-performance electric powertrain and suspensions with a dedicated configuration to ensure control, agility, stability, as well as to trace the most effective trajectories and ensure competition dynamics in all types of conditions.
To further contribute to performance excellence, the new Abarth is also equipped with an innovative limited slip differential, developed for the specific needs of a 100% electric powertrain and adapted to its dynamic characteristics.
The new Abarth will feature a braking system with larger brake discs and wider disc surfaces for better heat dissipation and greater resistance to fatigue. Additionally, the sports model will be equipped with special tires, developed based on experience in Formula E competitions, and featuring a softer compound tread on the outer and central zones, thus providing greater grip in corners and increased range.
The use of polyurethane in the tires allows, according to Abarth, better sound insulation, which can reduce perceived noise levels by up to 20%.
In the interior, the standout features are the sports seats composed of four different foams for optimized support in each body area, and they have an enveloping shape to contain the body in corners and emphasize lateral support.
The brand has not yet revealed the date for the presentation of this new and powerful 100% electric sports car.
