Opel has revealed that the new Morvano now features an eight-speed automatic transmission, recently developed for diesel engine variants.
The eight-speed automatic gearbox is available in the new Movano in combination with the 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel engine with 140 hp or 180 hp, and according to Opel, it allows for an efficient fuel consumption of 8.2 lt/100 km.
The new automatic transmission has been specially designed for high torque: up to 450 Nm in the 180 hp engine. Thanks to hydraulic control, it is possible to shorten gear shift times, which has a positive effect on both energy efficiency and driving comfort. In addition, improvements have been made to the Movano’s body, making the model more aerodynamic.
It should be noted that the Morvano is one of the references among light commercial vehicles in the fleet sector, as it includes numerous configuration options, a cargo volume of up to 17 m3, a payload of up to 2 tons, and new class-leading assistance systems that allow for level 2 assisted driving for the first time.
