Fleetwood hails from Southport, England, where three children lost their lives and 10 others were injured in a stabbing incident during a Taylor Swift-themed dance class. The police have charged a 17-year-old boy with the murders of Bebe King, Elsie Dot Stancombe, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, as well as multiple counts of attempted murder.
“It is an extremely challenging and emotionally raw time,” expressed Fleetwood after completing the opening round at Le Golf National on Thursday.

Fleetwood shared on his Instagram account that he was “utterly devastated” by the news and stated that “my heart will always be with Southport.”
He mentioned that his father and cousins still reside in the town.
“The majority of my family, in fact, still resides in Southport. The impact of such an incident is felt by everyone, and you never anticipate it happening, especially in a small town like Southport… All we can do now is move forward, make the best out of the situation, and support those who have been affected the most.”
Fleetwood began the second round at the Paris Games on Friday, trailing the leader by four strokes after shooting a 4-under-par 67 on Thursday. However, his exceptional performance on the front nine during Friday’s second round, where he scored a 31, brought him within one shot of the lead.
