The Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) revealed that the average weekly price of fuels decreased compared to last week, by 0.8% for gasoline and 0.89% for diesel.
According to the ERSE report, the efficient price was updated, “taking into account the weekly variation of international quotations for unleaded 95 gasoline at -2.2% and for unleaded diesel at -1.6%”.
Thus, “for the week of January 8th to 14th, the Preço Eficiente (Efficient Price) before taxes is €0.776 per liter for unleaded 95 gasoline and €0.841 for unleaded diesel. After taxes, the Preço Eficiente is €1.663 per liter for unleaded 95 gasoline and €1.651 for unleaded diesel”.
It should be noted that the efficient price “is a weekly average price determined by ERSE and results from the sum of the following components: fuel prices in international reference markets and their maritime freight, primary logistics, including strategic and security reserves of the National Oil System, additional costs for the incorporation of biofuels, and the retail component plus the respective taxes”.
Regarding the previous week, the report states that “the average of the Prices Announced to the Public on the signs, reported in the Single Energy Counter, was 3.1 cents per liter above the Efficient Price for unleaded 95 gasoline, and 4.2 cents above for unleaded diesel”.
In percentage terms, “unleaded 95 gasoline was announced on the signs 1.8% above the Efficient Price, and unleaded diesel was 2.6% above”, according to the report.
