VW will indeed revive the Scout off-road vehicle brand for North America as a 100% electric brand, and has enlisted the Austrian company Magna Steyr to develop the new models.
In an official video, Scout confirms that the first models will be unveiled in the beginning of the second half of 2024.
For now, the brand has not revealed whether it will present a production model or a concept, however, everything indicates that the first two Scout models will be 100% electric pick-up trucks and SUVs, based on a new technical platform designed for pick-ups and off-road vehicles within the VW Group.
It is worth noting that Scout gained notoriety in the 1960s for its off-road vehicles, later being absorbed by Navistar, which eventually became part of the brand conglomerate of the Traton Group, a subsidiary of the VW Group that includes, among others, the MAN and Scania brands.
