The Mercedes Formula 1 team has surprisingly been thriving in the world of motor racing. After facing some challenges in recent years, the team is back on track and has already achieved three wins this season.
The first half of 2024 concluded with a victory for Mercedes at Spa-Francorchamps. Despite facing tough competition from Red Bull, McLaren, and Ferrari in the first 14 races, Lewis Hamilton believes that the second half of the season will be just as intense.
Currently in fourth place in the constructors’ standings, Mercedes is determined to close the gap to the top teams. With a total of 266 points, they are trailing behind Ferrari (345) who currently holds the third position.
Hamilton emerged as the winner of the 2024 Belgian GP, although the race was marred by controversy. Initially, another driver crossed the finish line first but was later disqualified, ultimately handing the victory to Hamilton who had finished second.
There has been a lot of discussion surrounding the events at Spa-Francorchamps, with team principal Toto Wolff defending the decision to use a two-stop strategy for Hamilton.
As the 2024 F1 season takes a summer break, anticipation builds for the remaining 10 races. The Mercedes team is on the rise and their goal is to secure as many victories as possible, while consistently earning strong points in each race.
