The uncertain future of Adrian Newey in Formula 1 has become a hot topic of discussion. Eddie Jordan, a former team owner and now a pundit and manager for design expert Newey, remained elusive when asked about the possibility of Newey joining Ferrari. Newey’s decision to leave Red Bull in 2025 has sparked speculation about his next move, with several teams eager to secure his services.
While Aston Martin and McLaren are currently the frontrunners, there is still a chance that Ferrari could swoop in and secure Newey’s talents. However, Jordan challenged the assumption that Newey is heading to Aston Martin and emphasized that the situation is still undecided. He highlighted that Newey is currently enjoying some downtime and exploring other opportunities after dedicating his life to the sport for many years. Reports initially suggested that Ferrari was in pole position to secure Newey as a ‘super consultant,’ but later reports indicated that they were unwilling to engage in a bidding war with McLaren and Aston Martin.
Regardless of where Newey ends up, his presence will undoubtedly provide a boost to the team’s chances of success in the highly competitive world of Formula 1. However, McLaren may be the exception, as they have already achieved a string of podium finishes and are on par with Red Bull in terms of performance.
