Novak Djokovic made history in tennis at the Paris Olympics. Darren Cahill, the coach of Jannik Sinner, congratulated the Serbian champion after his victory at the Paris 2024 Olympics. This win was highly sought after by the current world number 2, as it completed his collection of victories and fulfilled his long-standing desire for an Olympic gold medal for Serbia, which had eluded him in previous Olympic editions.
Cahill, who was not directly involved in the Paris Olympics due to Sinner’s absence caused by tonsillitis, sent a heartfelt message from Canada, where the world number 1 is currently competing in the ATP Masters 1000 of Montreal.
The Australian coach expressed his admiration for Novak Djokovic, stating that he is the greatest player in the history of tennis. Among the numerous tributes received by Djokovic after his gold medal win at the Olympic Games, Cahill’s message stands out as a sincere and genuine show of admiration.
Impressed by Djokovic’s performance in the final against Carlos Alcaraz, Cahill wanted to pay tribute to him by saying, “It is an extraordinary achievement. Djokovic has had an extraordinary career as an athlete and tennis player. He is the best that tennis has ever seen. Congratulations, Novak, and kudos to your entire team.”
The Olympic victory of the Serbian champion is a significant moment in the history of tennis. I have previously mentioned this in one of my editorials, but it is worth repeating: what Djokovic accomplished at the Paris Olympics goes beyond the realm of epic. He is a champion guided by the hand of history, once again triumphing in a remarkable fashion.
