Kia has announced that it will unveil the future vision of electric mobility, with the presentation of a line of purpose-built battery electric vehicles (PBV) at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which will take place in Las Vegas, United States, from January 9th to 12th.
Returning to CES after five years, Kia will showcase five prototypes, including the first one scheduled for mass production starting in 2025, along with a range of brand-exclusive technological solutions for this area.
It is worth mentioning that the South Korean brand began construction of the new factory exclusively dedicated to the production of PBV vehicles this year, with an investment of €685 million, where the company plans to produce 150,000 units in the first full year, with potential for expansion based on future market conditions.
The new PBV factory will be built as an environmentally friendly production unit, applying innovative and cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, aiming to reduce carbon emissions.
Kia defines PBV as a total mobility solution, combining electric vehicles suitable for different purposes with advanced software solutions that will open doors to new businesses and lifestyles.
