Former Formula 1 driver Johnny Herbert suggested that it might be more advantageous for Lando Norris to keep his emotions to himself. Norris, who has been delivering impressive performances in recent races thanks to the fast McLaren car this season, consistently scored points over the weekend, bringing him closer to the top. However, in the past few races, the Briton failed to secure another victory due to several mistakes. Herbert advises Norris not to share his feelings of winning or losing the race, as others could exploit it.
According to Johnny Herbert, Lando Norris is an incredibly honest individual, which is commendable. However, the 60-year-old believes that it would be better for the Briton to keep his personal feelings and opinions private instead of sharing them publicly with everyone. It would be more beneficial for him to confide in his closest confidants rather than broadcasting his emotions to the world. By doing so, unnecessary problems or misunderstandings can be avoided.
Herbert emphasizes that if Norris shares his personal feelings with everyone, other drivers might use it to their advantage. He points out that if the 26-year-old displays signs of stress or uncertainty, others could exploit that information to gain an edge. The 60-year-old acknowledges that the young Briton is under immense pressure and states that, as a Grand Prix winner, he should have enough experience to handle the pressure and effectively manage the situation.
Johnny Herbert suggests that Lando Norris probably believes that the decision made in Hungary was not the best one. During the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa, Norris found himself in the gravel after a poor start and struggled to recover. In the last two races, Hungary and Belgium, the 26-year-old faced difficulties and did not perform as well. However, his teammate had a successful run, winning his first-ever race at Hungaroring and even finishing on the podium at Spa-Francorchamps.
Undoubtedly, Herbert highlights that Norris’ decision and unfortunate incidents in some races cost him his second win of the season. However, his teammate did an excellent job by securing first position in Hungary and second in the recent Belgium Grand Prix. Fans are eagerly anticipating the return of the pair after the summer break, expecting them to maintain the same level of dominance in the remaining 10 rounds.
