In an official announcement, the board of the US Open revealed the total prize money for the tournament, and it is an astonishing amount of money!
“The top players from the ATP and WTA Tours will be vying for the largest prize purse in the history of tennis at the 2024 US Open. This is part of the ongoing efforts by the US Open to ensure substantial winnings for all participants,” stated the organizers of the tournament, and rightfully so, considering the significant sums the players will receive.
To be precise, there will be a record-breaking prize money, the highest ever seen in tennis. The USTA has set the total prize money at $75 million, which represents a 15% increase compared to 2023.
The prize money for each round will be higher than last year. The winner and runner-up will receive $3.6 million and $1.8 million respectively, compared to $3 million and $1.5 million in 2023. Additionally, all players will be provided with $1,000 for travel expenses and two rooms in the official tournament hotels.
