Road traffic on the 25 de Abril Bridge, in Lisbon, will be “completely closed in the North-South direction and limited to one lane in the South-North direction” during the early hours of this Sunday, from 01:00 to 05:00.
According to the statement from Lusoponte, “Infraestruturas de Portugal, in collaboration with the Autoridade Nacional de Emergência e Proteção Civil (ANEPC), Polícia de Segurança Pública, Fertagus, and Lusoponte, will carry out an exercise in the early hours of next Sunday, December 10th, to test the Integrated Emergency Plan of the 25 de Abril Bridge.”
The concessionaire also states that “due to the characteristics of this infrastructure, specific rules need to be defined regarding Emergency Management. This requires a high level of coordination among the various entities responsible for this matter. Therefore, the exercise will be conducted under the coordination of the Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, and its purpose is to test the coordination and capacity of the various stakeholders in managing a significant incident in this infrastructure, ensuring compliance with the procedures included in the Integrated Emergency Plan.”
