The Toyota announced that it will produce in the factory of Ovar, in Portugal, an inclusive electric mobility vehicle, the Accessible People Mover (APM), to offer “last mile” services and transport people with special accessibility needs during the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024.
During the Games, Toyota will have about 250 APMs in circulation, to support the transportation of athletes, visitors, and employees in various facilities, including venues where events or competitions are held and other official locations, such as the Olympic village.
The APM is an electric battery-powered vehicle with a range of up to 100 km and a maximum speed of 20 km/h, designed in Belgium by Toyota Motor Europe and will be produced in Portugal. Vehicle production is scheduled to begin in February 2024. These APM units join the Caetano Bus hydrogen fuel cell buses also produced by the Salvador Caetano Group in Portugal.
