Running back Jonathan Taylor and the Indianapolis Colts are currently preparing for the upcoming 2024 NFL season, set to commence in less than a month. Taylor and the Colts have overcome trade rumors and Taylor, at the age of 25, has already established himself as one of the top running backs in the franchise’s history.
During an appearance on the Up & Adams show with Kay Adams, Taylor received the news that another 1,000-yard season would elevate him to the second spot in the franchise’s rushing history, surpassing Colts legends Marshall Faulk and Eric Dickerson. Taylor expressed his surprise and excitement, emphasizing the importance of a successful season and the correlation between running the ball effectively and winning games.
Taylor also gave credit to his offensive line for his success thus far, highlighting their intelligence and technical prowess in addition to their physicality. He praised their understanding of technique, alignment, and assignments, attributing their collective efforts to the team’s successful 2021 season and expressing confidence in their abilities for the upcoming year.
The Colts enter the 2024 NFL season as a unique team. While they may not be considered on par with powerhouses like the Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, or Buffalo Bills in the AFC, they came close to making the playoffs in 2023 and anticipate improvement from their starting quarterback, Anthony Richardson. Richardson had a solid rookie campaign and is expected to contribute significantly to the team’s performance.
Taylor remains one of the NFL’s most talented running backs, and with the Colts’ strong offensive line, he is poised to showcase his skills and reach his full potential in the upcoming season.
