AUSTIN, TX – Greg and Sarah Swindell, the parents of Brenna Swindell, 29, are urgently seeking assistance in locating their missing daughter, who has been unaccounted for since the evening of August 22, 2024, in the Austin area. The couple took to Facebook to publicly appeal for help, sharing that Brenna’s phone has been turned off and she has not been in contact with family, friends, or her children since that time.
“PLEASE HELP Our daughter Brenna Swindell has not been seen or heard from in the Austin area since late Thursday afternoon,” Greg and Sarah wrote on their Facebook page. They provided crucial details about Brenna’s last known location and her vehicle, a white Kia Carnival with the license plate VFS7528, which has not been located. The Swindells also expressed concern about Brenna’s ex-boyfriend, Morgan Guidry, who has a warrant and a history of violence, urging anyone with information about either individual to contact authorities immediately.
According to an Austin Police bulletin, Brenna was last seen at Poodies Hilltop Bar at 22308 State Hwy 71 in Spicewood, Texas, around 10:20 p.m. on August 22, 2024, alongside her ex-boyfriend, Morgan Guidry. Both individuals have been missing since then, with their phones remaining turned off since the following day.
Since the initial plea, the Swindells have provided updates to keep the community informed. In their first update, Sarah Swindell thanked supporters for their messages and shares, noting that Brenna and Morgan were seen together on the night she disappeared. They have tracked the white Kia Carnival to Colorado, where it was spotted on January 25, 2024. Despite this lead, the car’s GPS remains inactive, complicating efforts to locate Brenna.
“We have had lots of leads and trying to sift through them. Until we can get the KIA to activate the GPS tomorrow morning, and also figure out what apartment she is in as she moved on Tuesday and nobody knows the number, and the complex is closed today. So we desperately need to [sic] tomorrow,” Sarah explained in her second update. She emphasized the urgency of the situation, especially given Morgan Guidry’s legal troubles following an assault on Brenna last month. “She drives a white Kia Carnival which has not been located yet. We are in the process of filing a missing persons report so that will be with Austin Police soon,” they added.
The Swindells have appealed to the public for any sightings or information that could help locate Brenna. They highlighted Brenna’s physical description to aid in the search: she is approximately 5’5″, weighs around 120 pounds, has brown shoulder-length hair often styled in a high ponytail, and sports a sleeve tattoo with flowers on one arm and a spider web on her other shoulder. Additionally, Brenna is known to carry a vape with her regularly.
The emotional toll on the Swindells is evident as they continue to navigate this distressing situation. Sarah Swindell shared, “Brenna, if you see this, we all love you so much and need you home!” Their plea underscores the urgency and the deep familial bonds that drive their search.
Authorities are actively investigating Brenna’s disappearance, urging anyone with information to reach out to the Austin Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit at 512-974-5250. The community remains hopeful that Brenna will be found safe, and the Swindells continue to mobilize support in their desperate quest to bring their daughter home.
