The Institute of Mobility and Transport (IMT) warned this Tuesday, November 28th, about another fraudulent scheme related to obtaining a driver’s license through SMS or social networks, which promise legal qualification to drive in exchange for a sum of money.
“The IMT does not communicate the payment of any of its services through these means, so you should not, at any time, proceed with the requested payment”, emphasizes the IMT statement.
The note also states that “whenever these situations are detected, they are reported to the investigating authorities to determine criminal responsibility”. Therefore, the IMT warns that when “detecting or coming across suspicious messages that indicate a fraudulent scheme to obtain a driver’s license, you should report it to the criminal investigation authorities”.
The Institute of Mobility and Transport also emphasizes that “the payment of any amounts for obtaining a fake driver’s license, as well as the issuance of these licenses, are crimes punishable by law”.
