Max Verstappen is exerting overwhelming dominance in this year’s Formula 1 season, achieving records such as most wins in a single year, consecutive victories, or highest percentage of races won in the same season. A superiority that could jeopardize the interest in the premier category when the results seem almost certain from the start.

However, quoted on the grandprix.com website, the Red Bull driver from the Netherlands downplayed the impact of his dominance: ‘The NBA survived when the Chicago Bulls were dominating. At the time, or even afterwards, people would say: “That was incredible”. If you’re a true sports fan, you should be able to appreciate a team performing very well.’
The dominance of a single force can take away some quality from the spectacle, but Verstappen is very clear – the sport must prevail: ‘I would only bear in mind that the sport itself comes first, not the spectacle. That, for me, is very important, and that will also ultimately decide whether I stay or not’.
