Ever since the pandemic, the work dynamic across the globe has changed, at least for a significant number of industries. Employers and employees realized that working remotely could benefit both parties, which certainly was one reason why more people chose to move into tiny homes on wheels.
If you know you’re going to work remotely when designing your camper van, you must ensure you have a proper setup. A comfortable chair and a table are the essentials, but you can go even further and add a monitor or any other features (which can vary depending on what you do) that make work easier.
What we have here is a 2023 Ram ProMaster with a 159″ wheelbase and a high roof. The rig sports a gasoline engine paired with an automatic transmission. According to its maker, it gets about 13 to 18 MPG (funnily enough, it translates to 13 to 18 L/100km).
It’s Mountaineer Vanworks’ 13th conversion based on the ProMaster model, which prompted the company to name it “Lucky 13.” Typically, Mountaineer Vanworks pre-seels their builds, but this one is currently for sale – more info about that at the end.
Many camper vans come with striking interiors, but the builders don’t bother too much with the exterior, often leaving it white and dull. That’s not the case with this camper van – it’s finished in beautiful red paint and boasts an eye-catching custom vinyl graphic on its sides depicting mountain peaks.
You’ll also notice several exterior accessories. At the front, the builders installed a 52-inch LED light bar, perfect for lighting up the road ahead. On top, you’ll find a Maxxair fan, a Dometic RTX 2000 A/C, and a Fiamma roof rack holding a Fiamma awning and three 200 W solar panels. Other notable elements are two small slide-screen windows. Moreover, the rig rides on Falken Wildpeak all-terrain tires.
Pop the sliding door open, and you’ll be greeted by a warm and modern interior – one of its best design touches are Acacia Cevron-style butcher block countertops and various accents that give some personality to the rig. You also get white side walls and overhead cabinetry paired with light green-ish kitchen cabinets and drawers.
Not only does the interior look good, but it integrates a bunch of features – I’ll take them one by one, starting from the front. The driver’s cabin boasts a decently sized headliner sheld, and the driver’s and passenger’s seats can be swiveled.
Part of the entrance is covered by a kitchen counter. Mountaineer Vanworks added a flip-up table, perfect for enjoying a meal or a drink outside, provided you have a chair to sit on. Straight ahead from the entrance, you’ll discover the seating/office area. It comprises two benches with a table in between.
THE BUILDER’S INCREDIBLE CAMPER VAN TRANSFORMATION: A LOOK INSIDE
Prepare to be amazed by the incredible transformation of this camper van into a comfortable and functional living space. The builder has thought of every detail to make this space perfect for working and relaxing.
First, let’s take a look at the office/seating area. This spacious section features a large 32-inch TV/monitor on a swivel mount, allowing you to easily adjust the viewing angle. Conveniently located nearby are a video input port and two outlets for all your electronic needs. If the bench doesn’t provide enough comfort, simply swivel the driver’s seat and use the bench as a leg support.
But that’s not all – this versatile space can also be converted into an extra bedroom for overnight guests. By dropping the table and rearranging the cushions, you can create a cozy sleeping space measuring 5.5 feet (almost 1.7 meters). Alternatively, you can use it as a comfortable couch. And don’t forget about the ample storage space underneath the benches, overhead cabinets, and a hidden pull-out drawer in the seating area floor.
Moving on to the kitchen, you’ll find everything you need for cooking and meal preparation. The Dometic fridge/freezer, overhead microwave, single-burner induction stove, and sink with an extendable faucet make this kitchen functional and efficient. The wall-integrated spice shelves add a touch of convenience.
Storage is not an issue in this camper van. With three soft-close drawers and a sizable cabinet underneath the sink, you’ll have plenty of space for all your kitchen essentials. Plus, the cabinet also houses the rig’s control center, equipped with switches for lights and water pump, a water heater timer switch, a water tank gauge, and a greywater tank dump switch.
Now, let’s talk about the innovative shower design. Mountaineer Vanwors has come up with a unique solution by hiding the shower behind a cabinet door. When you flip up the butcher block countertop, a shower pan is revealed underneath. And for added convenience, hooks integrated into the cabinet door allow you to attach a curtain to prevent water splashing. The company has truly thought of everything, making it possible to use the spacious countertop when the shower is not in use. And don’t forget, there’s even a portable dry-flush toilet that sits on top of the shower pan.
Finally, we come to the bedroom. Mountaineer Vanwork has created an extendable bed to maximize space. By pulling out the footboard and folding out the mattresses, you can enjoy a massive king-size bed. Even when not fully extended, the bed still provides ample space for a shorter person to sleep comfortably. And with four overhead cabinets, a spacious shelf, USB chargers, and reading lights, storage and convenience are not compromised.
This camper van transformation is truly remarkable. The builder’s attention to detail and clever design choices make this a comfortable and functional living space. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to experience the freedom and flexibility of life on the road.
