Return to the podium for Lando Norris. In the São Paulo Grand Prix of Formula 1, he was the closest rival to Max Verstappen (Red Bull) and even threatened the winner, but did not have the means to do more than second place – still equaling his best results of the year and his career.
The British McLaren driver believes that the outcome was in line with the possibilities: ‘A very good day, it couldn’t have gone much better, to be honest. Good pace, similar to Saturday’s, which is the most important, and a much better start to move up from sixth to second.’
Norris also admitted that Red Bull and Verstappen are out of reach, and he is pleased to be a consistent contender for the top three: ‘Second place is the best we can achieve at the moment and for now, but I am very happy to constantly fight for the podiums. Thank you all for the hard work both on the track and at the factory, in what was a long but fun triple-header.’
