In a fiery interview on Newsmax’s American Agenda, China expert Gordon Chang dropped a bombshell, accusing U.S. leaders of having the power to stop Chinese espionage but deliberately choosing not to. Chang pointed to a recent House Homeland Security Committee report revealing dozens of spying cases tied to the Chinese Communist Party under the Biden administration.
“Chinese consular officials and agents of the Ministry of State Security have been committing crimes and violating our sovereignty for decades,” Chang emphasized. “And our political leaders have known about this. They’ve had the means to stop it, but for various reasons, they haven’t.”
The issue, Chang suggests, isn’t just China—it’s a failure within Washington. He also warned that China’s economy is far worse than Beijing admits, accusing the Chinese government of inflating its GDP numbers to mask the country’s economic troubles. According to Chang, the reality of China’s failing economy is a threat Beijing doesn’t want the world to see.
With China ramping up its global ambitions and espionage activities, Chang’s bold claims are sure to ignite further debate on how the U.S. should respond.
