The United States Grand Prix of Formula 1 is not being easy for Aston Martin. Despite the car receiving a significant upgrade, it is not showing competitiveness, and in yesterday’s sprint race in Austin, Fernando Alonso finished no higher than 13th.
The veteran from Oviedo did not hide his disappointment with the performance, stating: ‘We were not competitive in the sprint and we were not able to optimize our setup throughout the weekend. We need to continue analyzing what we can learn from this weekend and try to score some points in the race’.
In Alonso’s opinion, the time lost in free practice due to brake problems compromised the GP: ‘The whole team worked hard to bring the upgrade here to Austin, but the biggest problem so far this weekend was the challenging FP1 where we had such limited time and laps to test the updated car’.
