Donald Trump has unleashed a scathing attack on his former Chief of Staff John Kelly, branding the retired Marine general a “LOWLIFE” and “total degenerate” after Kelly claimed Trump admired Adolf Hitler and once said the dictator “did some good things.” The accusations, which surfaced in a blistering New York Times interview, have set off a new firestorm less than two weeks before the 2024 election.
Kelly, who served under Trump from 2017 to 2019, alleged that the former president once praised Hitler for “rebuilding the economy” and expressed frustration that U.S. generals weren’t as loyal to him as Hitler’s were to the Nazi regime. Trump, as expected, didn’t hold back, firing off on Truth Social: “Thank you for your support against a total degenerate named John Kelly, who made up a story out of pure Trump Derangement Syndrome Hatred!”
Kelly’s bombshell claims go even further. He stated Trump desired “absolute control” over the military, comparing his ideal style of leadership to dictatorships. He accused Trump of having “open contempt” for disabled veterans, once refusing to be seen with military amputees because it “doesn’t look good for me.” Kelly also doubled down on the accusation that Trump called fallen soldiers “suckers and losers.”
In true Trump fashion, the former president blasted Kelly’s character, calling him “JELLO” who had lost his toughness over time. Trump’s campaign swiftly dismissed Kelly’s remarks as “fabricated” and claimed they are part of a desperate smear effort by his former aides.
These shocking revelations, alongside Kelly’s refusal to endorse any 2024 candidate, have reignited heated debates about Trump’s fitness for office as the election looms large.
