Bonnie: The Perfect Camper Van for Family Adventures
In the world of camper vans, there is one company that stands out for their exceptional designs and attention to detail. Vanpuravida, based in Chelmsford, England, has been creating customized camper conversions since 2018. Their latest creation, Bonnie, is specifically designed for families who want to experience the joy of van life together.
Bonnie is based on Vanpuravida’s popular Pyrenees layout, which typically accommodates two people. However, this innovative design includes an optional child bed, making it perfect for a family of three. With a Scandinavian theme, Bonnie combines simplicity and coziness to create a comfortable and functional living space.
Unlike traditional camper conversions, Bonnie’s layout is unique. Rather than placing the kitchen at the front and the lounge/sleeping area at the rear, Bonnie’s designers have created a spacious corridor that runs through the entire van. This layout not only enhances the feeling of space but also allows for easy movement within the van.
The lounge area, located at the front of the van, doubles as a sleeping area. A modular sofa bed on the driver’s side provides plenty of seating space and can be easily converted into an L-shaped configuration. This clever design maximizes space, especially when combined with the floor-mounted removable table that can transform the area into a dining space.
One of the highlights of Bonnie is its connection to the outdoors. With the van door open, van lifers can enjoy the surrounding views while relaxing in the lounge area. It’s the perfect way to commune with nature, even when spending time inside the van.
When night falls, Bonnie offers maximum comfort with its double bed configuration. Simply fold out the sofa, and you’ll have a cozy and spacious sleeping area. It’s the ideal setup for a restful night’s sleep after a day of adventure.
Bonnie is a testament to Vanpuravida’s commitment to creating camper conversions that cater to the unique needs and desires of their clients. With their expertise and attention to detail, they have transformed the concept of van life for families. Now, families can embark on unforgettable adventures together, all while enjoying the comforts of home in a compact and versatile camper van.

In a stunning transformation, the Bonnie van conversion offers the perfect combination of comfort, style, and practicality. With its thoughtful layout, this van is sure to inspire couples or small families looking to embark on road trips or other four-wheeled adventures.
The adjacent kitchen is a true standout, featuring custom-made gray cabinetry and a beautiful worktop and splashback sourced from a local veneer supplier. Modern appliances, including a square black sink, a two-burner cooktop, and a small fridge, make cooking on the road a breeze. The space is also livened up with an interesting open shelving system with copper elements, perfect for displaying potted plants.
On the opposite side of the van, you’ll find a large closet, a cabinet housing the fridge, and a cleverly designed child’s bed. This bed sits atop the fridge during the day and converts to a neat pull-out drawer. A safety net anchored to the ceiling ensures the child’s safety during sleep, maximizing space and adding a third berth to the build.
The bathroom is another standout feature inside Bonnie, with immaculately crafted walls and floors coated in microcement for a natural and rustic look. It includes a toilet, a shower with a golden hose and showerhead, and a built-in shelf for toiletries.
The interior design of Bonnie is dominated by earthy and natural tones, complementing the Scandinavian style beautifully. Woodworking details, such as a paneled feature wall with a geometric pattern and a wood-paneled ceiling, add a touch of rustic style. The color scheme of gray, brown, and natural wood for the kitchen cabinets and benchtops creates a calm and relaxing ambiance, while the white walls and cabinet doors keep the interior bright.
Bonnie also boasts some noteworthy features that set it apart. A Whale Heat Air underslung LPG unit provides heat throughout the van, including the bathroom. Stylish acoustic speakers in a bespoke copper color are installed in the living space, offering a high-performance sound system.
Vanpuravida’s Pyrenees layout can be built on a Mercedes LWB Sprinter or Volkswagen Crafter L3H2 chassis, with prices starting at £38,990 (approximately $49,060 at today’s exchange rates). Please note that the price does not include the cost of the van base itself.
