Ghosts are real, and they come in the form of a half-a-century-old Dodge Charger. SpeedKore Performance, a custom shop and carbon fiber specialist based in Wisconsin, has transformed this iconic vehicle into a paranormal apparition known as “Ghost.” Painted in a ghostly shade of bright white, this re-invented Charger breaks away from the typical dark-painted Chargers we’re used to seeing. It’s ready for the drag strip and street-legal, making it the ultimate scary ride.
To enhance the eerie aesthetic, SpeedKore has added a billet aluminum grille finished in Black Cherakote and LED headlights. The custom-made SpeedKore carbon rear light panel adds to the haunting appeal. But it’s not just the exterior that’s been modified. Carbon fiber covers the dashboard, custom center console, and even the bucket seats. This ghostly Charger is all about lightweight performance.
Despite its supernatural appearance, the Ghost still retains its Charger identity. However, it’s not your typical 1970s Charger. According to SpeedKore President Jim Kacmarcik, this is “the most advanced 1970 Charger in the world.” And it’s easy to see why. Almost everything visible on this car is made of carbon fiber, including the body and floor. The custom steel chassis provides a wider track and longer wheelbase, making it bigger than the stock Charger. But thanks to the use of carbon fiber, the Ghost remains lightweight.
Under the hood, the original 426 Hemi V8 has been replaced with a 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 engine. With 707 horsepower and a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, this Charger is a force to be reckoned with. SpeedKore has also added custom headers and an exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers, ensuring that the Ghost sounds as menacing as it looks.
Safety is not overlooked in this ghostly creation. A 14-point roll cage provides extra rigidity, and Brembo brakes offer superior stopping power. The Ghost is equipped with a double A-arms Detroit Speed suspension and Penske dual adjustable coilers for improved handling. Custom HRE wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber complete the package.
For those who appreciate the thrill of a manual transmission, the Ghost is a dream come true. SpeedKore’s Facebook post states, “Three-pedal heroes, this one is for you!” So buckle up and prepare to be haunted by the most advanced 1970 Charger in existence.
