“Iran’s Zoubin system brings a new level of defense, capable of intercepting anything from drones to cruise missiles with a 360-degree shield,” announced Iranian officials as they launched this game-changing defense technology.
In a striking advancement in Iran’s military defense, the country has introduced its Zoubin air defense missile system, a 360-degree interceptor dubbed the “Iranian Iron Dome.” This state-of-the-art system is designed to counter an array of low-altitude threats, including drones, cruise missiles, artillery shells, low-flying jets, and helicopters—a significant step in Iran’s move toward fortified, self-reliant airspace protection. Mounted on a 6×6 truck, Zoubin’s tactical mobility allows it to swiftly reposition as needed, making it well-suited for Iran’s urban and strategic zones, particularly around Tehran.
Designed with vertical-launch canisters holding eight missiles, the Zoubin system offers quick-response capability and multi-target engagement within a 20-kilometer range, as well as radar capable of tracking up to 100 threats simultaneously. Developed in part with technologies from Iran’s long-range Bavar-373, the Zoubin marks a crucial addition to the nation’s defensive lineup, bridging a gap left by longer-range systems and defending against increasingly sophisticated threats.
The launch of Zoubin underscores Iran’s commitment to countering modern low-altitude threats with a self-developed, multi-layered defense strategy. In a region where aerial skirmishes are ever-present, Zoubin represents Iran’s resolve to shield its airspace autonomously and robustly.
