Toyota Motor Europe has announced the opening of its first mega hub (vehicle logistics center) in Kolin, Czech Republic.
The new facility from the Japanese brand has the capacity to process up to 350,000 vehicles per year and aims to improve the quality of accessories and reduce vehicle delivery times. Additionally, it seeks to increase customization opportunities through an expanded Pre-Delivery Service (PDS), currently performed at retail, allowing Toyota dealers to meet their customers’ unique needs more efficiently.
“Our investment of 17 million euros in the Kolin mega hub demonstrates Toyota’s unwavering commitment to doing business in the Czech Republic. This strategic step not only strengthens our presence in Central Europe but also reflects our confidence in the region’s potential. We are dedicated to promoting innovation, efficiency, and sustainability through this significant investment, ensuring we provide exceptional value to our customers and positively contribute to the local economy.”, said Robert Kiml, President of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech Republic.
The Kolin mega hub also supports Toyota Motor Europe’s ambitions to decarbonize the supply chain and vehicle logistics, as it takes advantage of the extensive rail networks that currently connect various European Toyota car factories.
