BYD, the world leader in vehicles powered by new energies and electric batteries, has reached a new historic milestone on its 30th anniversary by producing its 10 millionth vehicle at the BYD manufacturing plant in Shenzhen-Shanwei, China.
This significant milestone, which occurred on Monday, took place about two months after BYD reached the production of 9 million vehicles. The ten millionth vehicle produced by the Chinese brand is a Denza Z9.
It is noteworthy that BYD took 15 years to produce its first five million new energy vehicles, achieving the next five million in just 15 months. This fact highlights the company’s strategic focus on sustainable mobility and its continuous technological advancement.
At the ceremony marking the brand’s 30th anniversary and the production of the 10 millionth vehicle, BYD’s president, Wang Chuanfu, announced that the brand will invest 100 billion yuan (approximately €13 billion) in the development of smart technologies that will integrate artificial intelligence with automotive systems, thus making extensive updates across its entire range of vehicles.
This commitment aims to ensure that BYD remains at the forefront of technological advancements, staying competitive in the global market while fulfilling people’s aspirations for a better life.
