The Cherokee is one of the most charismatic models, but it was discontinued in early 2023, without a known successor.
According to reports from the specialized North American press, at the latest Los Angeles Auto Show, the CEO of Peep, Antonio Filosa, announced that the brand is preparing a compact crossover to fill the void left by the Cherokee, which will be launched in 2025.
Filosa did not confirm whether the new model will be named Cherokee, but he did confirm that it will be equipped with a hybrid powertrain, although he did not clarify whether it will be a plug-in hybrid configuration like the one Jeep uses in its 4xe models, or a mild-hybrid version.
Antonio Filosa did not provide many details about the new hybrid model that will fill the void of the Cherokee, but he mentioned that in addition to this new offering, Jeep is also preparing a refresh of the Compass, which will be based on Stellantis’ STLA Medium platform and is expected to hit the North American market in 2026, although it will be launched first in Europe in 2025, where it will also be manufactured.
