Callum Ilott confirmed as the Arrow McLaren driver for the upcoming IndyCar event. He will be behind the wheel of number 6 on the streets of St. Petersburg, replacing David Malukas, who is recovering from a wrist injury suffered during a mountain biking session. Although it was widely expected that Ilott would take over the car, the official announcement was made today. With two years of experience in the IndyCar with Juncos Hollinger Racing, Ilott brings a strong chance for Arrow McLaren to achieve a good result until their contracted driver is fully recovered. In the previous season, Ilott secured two top-five results and consistently placed his car in the upper half of the field. Additionally, he recently helped his team Jota Sport secure second place overall in the first round of the WEC. This aligns well with his schedule, allowing him to return to the United States for a substitute race in the IndyCar. Although the exact timeline for Malukas’ recovery is uncertain, he is expected to be ready in time for the Long Beach event in April, where he will finally be able to debut for Arrow McLaren.
