Carlos Sainz has been performing exceptionally well during the current 2024 F1 season. Since the announcement of his move to Ferrari in 2025, fans have been wondering about his future. The Spanish driver has had a string of victories this season and is certainly aiming for a top position in 2025 and beyond.
A former F1 team owner recently discussed Carlos Sainz’s potential future at Aston Martin. In the ‘Formula for Success’ podcast, Jordan shared his belief that there is a great chance of Sainz joining his fellow Spanish compatriot and childhood idol, Fernando Alonso, at Aston Martin in 2025.
Carlos has been driving for the Ferrari F1 team since 2021. It wouldn’t be surprising to see a fully Spanish team at Aston Martin next year. I firmly believe that if there is no place for him at Red Bull, he will join Fernando at Aston Martin. This is just my intuition, and often my intuition differs from others. It seems like a beautiful and romantic idea, doesn’t it?
Former team owner Jordan believes that the partnership of Sainz and Alonso would be fantastic for Aston Martin. If number 55 decides to move to the Silverstone-based team, all eyes will be on Sainz’s future in F1.
During the Formula for Success podcast, Jordan also praised Sainz’s quick recovery from appendicitis surgery and his impressive victory at the Australian Grand Prix. The Irishman described the speedy recovery as “legendary.”
Jordan commended the Spanish driver for his determination to win and succeed at all costs. He was also impressed by Sainz’s ability to remain calm and composed during the 58-lap race at Albert Park, after his teammate retired due to brake duct issues.
It’s truly a legendary story where a guy walks out of the hospital after a major operation. Most doctors would say what happened is impossible, but he went through an exhaustive process… I saw him getting out of the car and he was very cautious. He definitely felt pain during that race. I believe the determination in his mind and what his father would have told him at that moment pushed him to enter the race.
Jordan is clearly impressed by the determination and will of the 29-year-old to outperform his Ferrari teammate throughout the Australian GP weekend. If Carlos Sainz continues to perform as he has done this season, he will certainly attract the attention of several team bosses. Only time will tell where the number 55 will end up.
