Verstappen won the first Sprint race of the season, securing a dominant lead of 13 seconds over Lewis Hamilton. His teammate, Sergio Perez, secured a respectable third place.
The Ferrari duo crossed the finish line in fourth and fifth place, with Charles Leclerc leading the way ahead of Carlos Sainz. Lando Norris, who had claimed pole position in the Sprint race, finished in sixth place, closely followed by his teammate Oscar Piastri in seventh.
George Russell secured the final points-scoring position, finishing in eighth place, while Zhou Guanyu delighted the home crowd by crossing the line in ninth place.
Kevin Magnussen completed the top ten.
