Volvo Car Portugal announced this Tuesday that Edson Ishikawa is the new general manager of the company, succeeding Susanne Hägglund, who has been leading the brand in Portugal since January 2022.
Susanne Hägglund will take on a new role as global offer director, shaping and improving Volvo Cars’ product and service offerings for customers worldwide, reporting directly to Björn Annwall, deputy CEO and chief commercial officer of Volvo Car Corporation.
Meanwhile, Edson Ishikawa returns to Portugal, where he successfully led the Portuguese market for seven years (2014-2021). In addition to his new role as general manager of Volvo Car Portugal, Edson Ishikawa will continue with his current responsibilities as director of international markets (Europe) at Volvo Car Corporation.
“It is a great honor to return to Volvo Car Portugal, it was undoubtedly a very special chapter in my career at Volvo Cars. I remember saying, when I left in 2021, that large organizations are dynamic and constantly evolving – so today’s Volvo Car Portugal is much better than yesterday’s, and tomorrow’s will be even better. I hope to continue the excellent work done by Susanne and the team over the past few years, so that together with our business partners, we can exceed our customers’ expectations,” Edson Ishikawa stated in a press release.
