The Spanish racing driver Fernando Alonso retired from the 100km sprint race on April 20 due to a puncture and damage resulting from a collision with Carlos Sainz of Ferrari. As a consequence of the incident, Alonso received a 10-second penalty after the race and three penalty points, bringing his total to six in the last year.
To address the issue, the stewards announced that a virtual video conference will be held on Friday during the Miami Grand Prix. The conference will involve representatives from both teams and will be conducted in two parts. The first part will focus on determining if there is any new significant and relevant information that was not available at the time of the original decision. If deemed necessary by the stewards, a second part will be held. (Reporting by Alan Baldwin)
