Ferrari driver, Miguel Molina, states that qualifying is less important at Spa-Francorchamps compared to Imola due to more overtaking opportunities during the race. In a discussion with selected press, Molina stated: “We have diligently analyzed all the situations we encountered since Imola. However, the result was not as expected. I believe Saturday was the better of the two races for Ferrari so far. It was our home race and we secured a 1-2-3 qualifying result, which was the highlight of the race at Imola.” Molina shares car #50 499P with Antonio Fuoco and Nicklas Nielsen, with 499P being the highest placed Hypercar among the three in the championship. They currently hold fifth position with 25 points, two points behind team #12 JOTA Porsche 963. Ferrari hopes to carry their strong performance from Imola to Spa-Francorchamps, especially due to the influential role of strategy in determining the winners of the Italian race. Furthermore, the predicted warmer weather at Spa-Francorchamps, in contrast to last year, further enhances Ferrari’s prospects. Molina added: “We know our car performs well on high-speed tracks. This was evident last year when we had a good performance here. We must continue our progression and give our best effort, as we did in Imola. However, Spa and Le Mans may favor us even more due to the high-speed corners and generally faster lap times.”
