Adrian Newey is set to leave Red Bull at the beginning of 2025. Red Bull recently made an official announcement about Newey’s departure. After spending 19 years with the team, the chief technical officer believes now is the right time to pass on his responsibilities to other team members.
There have been numerous speculations in the past month about the possibility of Newey joining other teams, such as Ferrari and Aston Martin, who have made attractive offers. The rumors were fueled by the turbulence within Red Bull.
Now that it is confirmed, Newey has expressed his gratitude to the team and discussed his future plans. He will take a break from Formula 1 to focus on developing Red Bull’s first Hypercar. However, there is still a chance he may temporarily join another team.
As Newey prepares to leave Red Bull in 2025, team principal, Christian Horner, took to Instagram to pay tribute to his colleague and close friend. While Newey thanked Horner in his official statement, Horner shared their working experiences together as a team.
In an Instagram post, Horner also praised Newey for his significant contributions to memorable events over the past two decades, leaving a lasting impact in Milton Keynes. According to Horner, the RB17 Track Car will serve as a fitting tribute to Newey. All eyes will be on the designer during the upcoming Miami GP weekend.
