Alex Albon will start the Austrian Grand Prix Sprint race from the pits as the Williams team has decided to modify his Formula 1 car. Albon had hoped that the Red Bull Ring would be more favorable for Williams after a disappointing performance in Spain last weekend. However, while one Williams car made it to the second qualifying session, Albon was eliminated, being outpaced by his teammate Logan Sargeant for the first time based on genuine pace. Albon regretted not being more daring with the changes in his setup during the limited practice time and sacrificed his 19th place starting position to make these adjustments. As a result, Sauber’s Zhou Guanyu will move up one position on the grid, while Albon will start the race off the designated starting grid for the second consecutive event. Williams’ slim hopes of scoring points in the shortened race now lie in the hands of Sargeant, who will start the race in 15th place.
