The latest MINI Cooper is here, and it’s got a fresh new look. The fifth-generation three-door hatchback takes inspiration from its electric counterpart, the Cooper SE. While it may look similar to its predecessor, everything about it is brand new. From the LED headlamps to the taillamps, every detail has been carefully designed.
Inside, the new Cooper and Cooper S have a minimalist style. The 9.4-inch round OLED display is now closer to the driver, making it easier to control various functions. Vehicle-related information, such as speed and fuel consumption, can be found at the top of the screen. The lower part allows drivers to control climate settings, navigation, telephone, and media.
MINI has made some changes to the center console as well. The gear selector has been moved below the screen, creating more space. The console now features an enhanced wireless charging pad and a toggle bar that houses the parking brake, start/stop key, driving mode selector, and volume control. The cargo area can also be expanded by folding down the rear seats.
Under the hood, the new Cooper and Cooper S pack a punch. In the United States, both models come with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The Cooper S generates 201 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to go from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.3 seconds. Performance details for the normal Cooper will be announced soon. And of course, the MINI Cooper still offers that famous go-kart feel that enthusiasts love.
Safety is a top priority for MINI. The new Cooper comes with a range of driving assistance features, including safe exit function, steering and lane keeping, and automatic speed and distance control. The MINI Navigation Package is also available, offering 3D visualization and augmented view. And for those who like to personalize their cars, there are plenty of exterior colors to choose from, along with three roof hues.
Production of the 2025 Cooper S will begin in March, with a starting price of $32,200. The 2025 Cooper will follow in July, starting at $28,950. Both prices exclude the $995 destination charge. Get ready to hit the road in style with the new MINI Cooper.
