Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake’s campaign office in Phoenix faced a frightening situation on Tuesday when a staffer opened an envelope containing a powdery substance and a note warning of anthrax. The staff member, handling financial donation letters, discovered the alarming message, which claimed “anthrax spores” were present. The campaign immediately contacted local authorities, leading to a swift evacuation of the office.
Hazmat teams, firefighters, and law enforcement arrived on the scene to investigate the threat. Lake’s campaign office was cleared as a precaution, and after thorough testing, Phoenix Police confirmed the substance was non-hazardous. No injuries were reported, and the campaign staff were allowed to return later that day.
In a strong statement, Lake condemned the incident as another attack by the “radical left” attempting to intimidate her movement. “This isn’t just about me; it’s an attack on our movement. I won’t be intimidated, and those responsible must be brought to justice,” she declared.
The campaign’s strategist, Tiffany Marie Brannon, described the panic and fear that gripped staff during the ordeal, especially among those with small children or who were pregnant. Despite the scare, Lake’s campaign remains steadfast in its efforts, vowing not to be silenced by such threats.
