The VW factory in Palmela, Portugal, announced that it produced 220,100 vehicles last year.
In a statement, the VW production unit states that “Europe was the main destination for the cars produced at Autoeuropa”, adding that there was a 14.09% increase in the European market compared to 2022, when 180,909 units produced in Portugal were delivered in Europe.
According to the group, “in 2023, the T-Roc was the third best-selling car in Europe”. Furthermore, the T-Roc was the best-selling VW model in Portugal in 2023, with 2049 units, which represents a 39.48% increase in demand for the SUV produced at the Autoeuropa factory compared to 2022.
“The commercial performance of the T-Roc demonstrates the commitment of the Palmela factory team to produce a quality and attractive product for the brand’s customers”, says Thomas Hegel Gunther, CEO of Volkswagen Autoeuropa.
According to the company, the Volkswagen brand significantly increased its sales volume last year, with approximately 4.87 million vehicles delivered to customers worldwide.
“The numbers surpassed those recorded in the previous year in all regions. Overall, the increase in delivery volume was 6.7%”, the group indicated.
