The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) has revealed that the European Union’s automotive market saw a 6.7% increase in sales in November, marking the 16th consecutive month of growth, with 1.08 million registered.
As for 100% electric car registrations, sales increased by 16.4% compared to the 15% recorded in the same month of 2022, reaching 144,378 vehicles, despite the German market, the largest in the European Union, experiencing a 22.5% decline.
In the electrified market, consumers continued to prefer hybrid electric vehicles, which saw a 28.7% increase in the eleventh month of the year, driven by double-digit growth in the three largest markets: Germany (+38.4%), France (+35.8%), and Italy (+30.2%), while the demand for plug-in hybrids decreased by 22.1%, with 72,002 units sold in November.
The gasoline car market in the EU grew by 4.2%, despite a continued decline in market share, which stood at 32.7% last month, while the diesel car market continued its downward trend in November, contracting by 10.3%.
