Four months after the start of series production of the new M5, BMW has now announced that the Dingolfing factory in Germany has begun production of the new M5 Touring.
The new M5 Touring, the third in the history of the Munich sports division, is equipped with all-wheel drive and a plug-in hybrid powertrain from the sedan, which combines a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 gasoline engine with an electric motor, providing a combined power of 727 hp and a maximum torque of 1000 Nm.
The electric motor is powered by a useful capacity 18.6 kWh battery, allowing the BMW M5 Touring to announce an electric-only range of up to 67 km.
This powertrain allows for acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 248 km/h, which can reach 304 km/h with the optional M Driver’s package.
The new BMW M5 Touring will start arriving in markets this November, with a starting price for the national market at €170,000.
