#25: BMW M Team RLL, BMW M Hybrid V8, GTP: Connor De Phillippi, Nick Yelloly, Maxime Martin
Maxime Martin from BMW is currently leading at Sebring, with just 4 hours remaining as the race approaches its final stages.
Martin, driving the BMW M Hybrid V8 #25, took the lead during the pitstop rotation after a major accident involving Pipo Derani about 30 minutes before the four-hour mark. Derani, who was driving the Cadillac V-Series.R from Action Express #31, led a significant portion of the race alongside his teammates Jack Aitken and Tom Blomqvist. However, Derani’s accident, which resulted in the Cadillac flipping over after colliding with the Ferrari #21 driven by Miguel Molina, completely changed the dynamics of the race.
Currently, the race is under yellow flag once again, specifically the eighth Full Course Yellow (FCY), due to debris from a Ford Mustang that went off track and lost part of its diffuser bodywork.
In second place is Mathieu Jaminet driving the Porsche 963 #6, followed by Ricky Taylor in the Acura ARX-06 #10 from WTR Andretti in third. During the aftermath of Derani’s accident, Jesse Krohn in the initial #24 BMW briefly held the second position, but by the end of the lap, he had dropped to fifth place.
In the LMP2 category, Tom Dillmann is leading in the Oreca 07-Gibson #52 from Inter Europol. Mikkel Jensen is in second place driving the Oreca 07-Gibson #11 from TDS Racing, while Bijoy Garg holds third place in the Oreca 07-Gibson #22 from United Autosports.
Michael Christensen is leading the GTD Pro class in the Porsche 911 GT3 R #77 from AO Racing. The second position in this class is held by Madison Snow driving the BMW M4 GT3 #1 from Paul Miller Racing, followed by Alexander Sims in third place with the Corvette C8.R #3.
Finally, Frederik Schandorff is leading the GTD class aboard the McLaren 720S GT3 #70 from Inception. Zach Robichon is in second place driving the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo #27 from Heart of Racing, while Onforio Triarsi holds the third position with the Ferrari 296 GT3 #023 from Triarsi.
