Browns’ New Offensive Coordinator Excited to Work with Deshaun Watson
Ken Dorsey, the new offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns, is eagerly looking forward to collaborating with star quarterback Deshaun Watson. In his official introduction on Monday, Dorsey expressed his excitement about working with Watson and his belief in his abilities as one of the top quarterbacks in the league. Dorsey is determined to help Watson prove himself and lead the Browns to victory.
The Browns made a significant trade with the Houston Texans in 2022 to acquire Watson, giving up three first-round picks. They also awarded him a lucrative contract. However, the trade hasn’t yielded the desired results so far. Watson has faced challenges due to a suspension and injuries, limiting his playing time to just 12 games. Despite some impressive moments, his performance has been inconsistent, with a record of 8-4, 2,217 passing yards, 14 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions.
What excites Dorsey is the belief within the organization that Watson is receptive to coaching and eager to elevate his game. He is determined to continue the work of the previous coaching staff in pushing Watson to reach his full potential. Dorsey emphasized that the goal of the quarterback room is to score points and win games, and having a talented player like Watson will undoubtedly contribute to achieving that objective.
The Browns’ biggest challenge will be keeping Watson healthy. He suffered two separate shoulder injuries last season, with the second ending his campaign in November. However, Watson underwent surgery and is expected to be fully recovered for training camp.
Ken Dorsey, known for his work with quarterbacks such as Cam Newton and Josh Allen, has been hired by the Browns in hopes that he can help Deshaun Watson regain his Pro Bowl form. Dorsey recognizes that each quarterback is unique and different, and he is excited about the opportunity to work with Watson and help him reach his elite level. After being hired, Dorsey had a conversation with Watson and was impressed by his talent and character. Watson has been rehabbing in Los Angeles but is expected to return to Cleveland for the team’s offseason activities.
