Cadillac Racing has confirmed a two-driver team for the FIA World Endurance Championship, 6 Hours of Imola, on April 21, which will feature a grid of 37 cars. The provisional entry list for the third round of the WEC 2024 reveals the participation of 37 cars for the race at Imola. For the first time since 2014, when the championship-winning duo Anthony Davidson and Sebastien Buemi competed in the last four rounds together, there will be a two-driver team in the main category of the WEC. In the Cadillac V-Series.R #2, Earl Bamber and Alex Lynn will face the six-hour race without the assistance of Sebastien Bourdais. Additionally, Cadillac was recently disqualified from the season-opening race in Qatar due to a technical infringement. The rest of the entry list remains the same as Qatar, with 19 Hypercars and 18 LMGT3s. Peugeot will make its debut with the 2024 car, which features significantly updated aerodynamics, something that was not done in Qatar. Porsche Penske claimed their first victory in the WEC in Qatar, while Peugeot suffered a setback after a fuel pump issue caused car #93 to run out of fuel in the final minutes of the nearly 10-hour race, ending their podium hopes. Nine manufacturers will represent each category, with the Manthey PureRxing Porsche 911 GT3.R, car #92, leading the LMGT3 standings after the victory in Qatar. The second and third positions are held by the two Aston Martin AMR Vantage competitors, Heart of Racing and D’station Racing, thanks to a double podium for the British manufacturer.
